Make Your Own Cell Phone/Change Purse Carrier

First you will need

2 pieces of fabric and light interfacing 12' x 4' (back pocket and flap)

4 pieces of fabric and 2 pieces of interfacing 7' x 4 1/2' (change purse section)

1 piece of fabric 4' x 10' (change purse pocket) fold this piece in half to use as a pocket. For more body use a piece of interfacing 4" x 5" in the middle of it.

 1 - 7' or 8' zipper

 velcro  2' or 3' length

 1 scrap of fabric 2' x 3' (loop)

Cut out the change purse section and pocket and fold top edges and pin to zipper

Step 2  Sew a piece of velcro to the back pocket flap 1 to 2 inches from the top edge.

Step 3 Sew the 2 back pocket pieces together sewing it up entirely leaving a small hole for turning it right side out. Then stitch up the hole and press.

Step 4) Now place the change purse section together leaving the pocket flat and sew the velcro to the pocket piece

Step 5) Now lay the change purse back down opened with the change purse pocket section back.

Place the back pocket with flap on the opposite site of the velcro side of the change purse about 1 1/2" from the bottom..

When you look at it you will see the velcro on the change purse but not on the back pocket with flap.

You will start sewing about 1/4" or so from the top egde of change purse, sew down one side along the bottom and up the other side. Make sure to reinforce the top edges as you start and when you finish this seam.

Step 6) Now fold over the flap so it will not be in your way as you sew the change purse section.

And don't forget to open your zipper before you sew, so you can turn it right side and you sew it up.

Step 7) Sew up the sides and bottom of the change purse making sure you go slow and checking periodically that the back pocket and flap do not get caught in the change purse seams as you go.

Step 8) You can sew a loop on to the back pocket right close to the flap.

A loop is made by sewing the 2" x 3" scrap together length wise and folding in the edges.

If you prefer you can sew a strap to the corner of the change purse instead.

There you go....

Did you notice the velcro is a little crooked?

That's why it's so important to measure as you go.
